I think this show portrays how we place our family in top priority and the loyalness we felt towards people who helped us before. Most importantly, the humbleness of us Chinese people. Even though Ip Man won, he wasn’t parading his victory in front of all the Caucasians like what that bloody Twister guy did, he wasn’t trying to prove anything, like “Hey look, I won! Chinese wushu is wayy better than boxing!” No, he didn’t. He merely shared his thoughts with them. Like how he believes that, yes, in Life, there will be different status amongst people, but that doesn’t mean we can treat others with lesser respect or dignity. We are all equal.
It’s true isn’t it?
And the thing he wished to do straight after he won the competition was to go back to his family. To his wife and children.
God, love patriotic/wushu-fied movies like this.
